The Upper Ottawa Valley Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is putting the spotlight on crime-prevention initiatives this week as Ontario marks Crime Prevention Week from Nov. 2 to 8.
The goal is to raise awareness about how residents, businesses, municipalities and police can work together to reduce crime and enhance public safety throughout the region.
“Community safety is everyone’s responsibility. Join the conversation and learn how you can take part and make a difference,” said Inspector Stephan Neufeld of the UOV OPP.
Several programs already underway in the Pembroke and Petawawa area are being promoted as examples of that shared commitment.
