PALMERTON, Pa. — There is a new business coming to Delaware Avenue in Palmerton.

Allen and Karen Smith own a farm in Northampton County, but decided to take on a new business venture, the Palmerton Public Market.

"We were on our way to a wine fest, and we went by here and we saw the building for sale, and on the way back, we stopped and kind of peered in the windows, looked at it, and we called the realtor," said co-owner Allen Smith.

The building used to be home to Shae's Hardware, and soon it'll be home to more than a dozen different vendors and businesses.

"We have a meat market, winery, coffee shop, bakery, frozen freeze-dried candy, home decor, and flowers. The other there's a lot of vendors that are going to be coming in. We have produce, meat, seafood," explained co-owner Karen
