TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A federal judge ordered that the Trump administration must fully fund SNAP benefits for November late Thursday afternoon.
Officials have not yet provided an estimate for when the funds will be distributed.
In the meantime, families and Tampa Bay businesses continue to feel the strain as delays in benefits are creating financial hardships and ripple effects across communities.
“People don’t have the money, there’s not a lot of foot traffic like we’re used to,” said Fady Shaheen, manager of the Speedy Market.
Shaheen explained to News Channel 8 there has been a recent decline in SNAP recipients coming into the store since benefits expired Nov. 1.
"Business dropped 10% to 15% since that happened," he said.
