TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Over three dozen major airports are expected to see flight cuts as the Federal Aviation Administration scales back operations amid the federal government shutdown.
A preliminary list obtained by NewsNation shows Tampa International Airport (TPA) is among the affected markets, with nearly 600 flights coming in and out of the airport each day.
Officials at TPA said they are "closely monitoring developments" following the FAA's Thursday announcement regarding potential restrictions on air traffic.
"The Airport is currently awaiting information about how TPA may be affected by this plan," officials said in a statement Thursday.
