LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — The Clark County coroner has reported nearly 300 heat-related deaths so far in 2025.
The coroner sent a release with the update Thursday afternoon. The total number of deaths so far this year where heat was a factor is 279. The coroner says this number is not final, as 90% of cases take up to 90 days to investigate the cause and manner of death.

County officials say people could be more susceptible to heat with the use of drugs, including fentanyl. Other factors include illnesses and medical conditions such as cardiovascular disease and physical exertion, inappropriate clothing, lack of acclimatization and dehydration.
According to a document, one of the youngest deaths reported is 18.
