State prosecutors have reached another plea agreement with a former aide to Ex-Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield, who is set to face trial over a series of alleged financial misconduct crimes.
Rob Minard, who was Chatfield's chief of staff during the lawmaker's time as speaker, pleaded guilty Thursday, Nov. 6, to one felony charge of stealing at least $20,000 but less than $50,000 from a nonprofit organization and one felony charge of filing a false tax return, Attorney General Dana Nessel's office announced. Minard, 48, and his wife Anne Minard were initially charged with a series of felonies in 2023, including one count of criminal conspiracy, after prosecutors alleged the couple had illicitly used their connections to political nonprofits for their own personal gain.
