Andrew Mountbatten Windsor has been formally stripped of all his royal titles.

King Charles, Andrew’s older brother, made the removal of “his royal highness” official on Wednesday after issuing a Letters Patent, a document that can bestow or remove appointments or titles.

“THE KING has been pleased by Letters Patent under the Great Seal of the Realm dated 3 November 2025 to declare that Andrew Mountbatten Windsor shall no longer be entitled to hold and enjoy the style, title or attribute of ‘Royal Highness’ and the titular dignity of ‘Prince,'” reads the announcement published in The Gazette , the U.K.’s official public record.

The title Duke of York was also removed by the monarch.
