GEORGETOWN, Ky. — Jake Southworth is on a mission to create delicious food in a restaurant-style setting, helping feed people during a time of increased need while honoring one 12-year-old’s goals.
Inside AMEN House in Georgetown is Russ' Kitchen, a 90-seat community space attached to its own stainless steel kitchen space. Meals prepared include different ingredients from its pantry each day.
With the future of Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits uncertain, lines have extended around the perimeter of the building and beyond, as the 36-year-old food pantry plans to begin serving full meals.
