STONY BROOK, Long Island (PIX11) -- Exactly one month ago, Nassau County Highway Patrol police officer Michael Hyland was hit and seriously injured during a routine funeral procession escort.
Doctors described his injuries as “being broken head to toe.”
On Thursday, he was released from Stony Brook Hospital to begin his next step on the road to recovery, and dozens of his fellow officers were there to support him.
