WAIKAPU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The Maui Fire Department will be conducting wildland live fire training on multiple days this month.
The MFD 42nd recruit class will be training on Nov. 10, 12, 18, and 19.
MFD is warning the public ahead of time that smoke will be visible between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.
Firefighters will be training in Waikapu, across from the Maui Tropical Plantation.
They will have relief engines and tankers on site.
Safety officers and wildland training cadre personnel will be there with the recruits to ensure proper management and safety during the critical training.
