MIAMI —

Former New England Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown was arrested and is facing attempted murder charges in relation to a May shooting in Miami, Florida, the city's police department confirmed.

Miami police said officers found evidence of a fight that occurred in the city the morning of May 17. No arrests were made and no injured victims were reported following an investigation.

After a thorough investigation, Miami police said Brown was identified as the gunman in a shooting that occurred during the fight.

A warrant for his arrest on attempted murder charges was filed and Brown was apprehended while in Dubai. He was later extradited to Essex County, New Jersey, by U.S. Marshals, where he is being held until his extradition to Miami-Dade County Jail.
