EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - During the early morning hours of November 6, 2005, a tornado touched down near Smith Mills, Kentucky.
The tornado rapidly became a violent EF-3, crossing the Ohio river three times before ripping across Vanderburgh, Warrick and Spencer Counties.
It left a 41 mile path of destruction and killed 25 people.
20 of those people were in Eastbrook Mobile Home Park, including Mandy Sims.
Looking at the concrete slab where her mobile home once sat in 2005, Sims recalled the night.
“My dog started kind of misbehaving and going to the windows, whimpering, and it felt kind of sultry in the house, and it had felt kind of weird all day long,” remembers Sims, “when you live in a mobile home park and have gone through storms, you always turn on the tv and check the news to
