The Salvation Army kicked off two of its most iconic programs at Hamilton Place Mall: the Angel Tree , which provides gifts for children in low-income families, and the Red Kettle Campaign .
“It’s a great opportunity for people to give back, and everybody knows what that little red bell means when you’re ringing it in front of a store,” says Major Douglas McClure, Chattanooga’s Salvation Army Area Commander.
These donations help fund year-round services like food, shelter, and assistance for families in need.
"We see the hundreds and thousands of kids and seniors that are assisted by these programs,” Major McClure says. “The kettles that ring all over our community–that represents hope of people not just during the Christmas season but all throughout the holiday season.”
