Team to Reach Today on the 9th Day of the Blowout
A team of foreign experts from the United States is arriving today to help control the massive blowout at the Kharsang Oil Field in Arunachal Pradesh’s Changlang district, which has been spewing gas uncontrollably for the past nine days.
The experts, from the U.S.-based firm Cudd Pressure Control, have been roped in by Oil India Limited (OIL) at the request of GeoEnpro Petroleum Ltd (GEPL),the operator of the field. The five- to six-member team will join Crisis Management Teams (CMT) from OIL and ONGC, who are already stationed at the site, battling to contain the situation.
