GLOBE, AZ (AZFamily) — A Gila County community recently ravaged by floodwaters continues to deal with the aftermath over a month later.
“We’re still dealing with sewer breaks, sewer line repairs from the initial flooding because our infrastructure is really old,” said Globe Mayor Al Gameros.
On Thursday, the city of Globe held a meeting with employees to talk about the destructive event and make sure everyone is emotionally well.
“What we did is we just wanted to check in with all our employees. We went through this trauma, also the flood. And at the same time, some of our employees had structures in their own personal structures that were damaged, but they worked straight through,” said Gameros.
On a more positive note, most of the businesses that had to close are now back open.
