PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A shooting in west Phoenix Thursday night left one person fighting for their life as police actively search for the suspect.

Details are limited, but officers responded to the area of 85th Avenue and Indian School Road just before 8:30 p.m.

Phoenix police confirmed to Arizona’s Family that one person suffered life-threatening injuries after a shooting broke out in the area.

Video captured by an Arizona’s Family photojournalist showed a heavy police presence near a Circle K and at a nearby crash that officers on scene said was connected to the shooting.

A law enforcement helicopter was also overhead in the neighborhood as detectives worked to locate the suspect.

No other information has been released.
