New Delhi: India’s automobile retail sector saw a major boost during the 42-day festive season of 2025, recording a 21 per cent rise in sales compared to last year, according to data shared by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA). The growth was mainly driven by strong demand for passenger vehicles and two-wheelers, helped by a drop in prices after the GST 2.0 tax changes.

During this year’s festive period, total vehicle sales across categories went up to 52,38,401 units, compared to 43,25,632 units sold in the same period in 2024. FADA President C.S. Vigneshwar said that this year’s festive season turned out to be the most successful one for the auto retail industry, marking a new record for both sales and growth.
