HEBRON, Ky. (WXIX) - Six flights to Boston, Chicago, Newark and Philadelphia are already cut early Friday at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport.
CVG is among 40 airports cutting 10% of flights daily due to the government shutdown, now the longest in our nation’s history.
Airlines are expected to cut at least 4% of Friday’s flights and increase to 10% next week.
Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced earlier this week that the cuts would begin Friday morning and are necessary to maintain safety.
International flights are not impacted.
CVG officials released a statement on Thursday evening, urging travelers to check their flight status before heading to the airport.
