WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn. — New fallout in the government shutdown as the FAA prepares to reduce 10% of air traffic at 40 airports across the country.

This is intended to help alleviate the workload of air traffic controllers, who have been working without pay since the shutdown began in October.

Travelers have begun receiving notifications that their flights have been canceled. While people try to reschedule flights, they are nervous about what this could mean for the holiday travel season.

“I’m glad I was flying in today, instead of tomorrow,” said Gabriel Dino, East Windsor.
