An investigation is underway after an Edinburgh Pharmacy was broken into during the early hours of Thursday morning.

Around 1.20am entry was forced to the Carewise Pharmacy in Polwarth Gardens by smashing through the front window.

The prescription medicine cabinets were forced open and a quantity of drugs were stolen. The till was also emptied.

Staff have since cleared the debris and the pharmacy has reopened to ensure that no patient went without their essential medication. Prescriptions were collected from local GP practices, and deliveries are being completed as normal.
