Breaking new ground in India’s railway modernization drive, the upcoming Vande Bharat Sleeper Train has successfully clocked a top speed of 180 km/h during its trial run on the Sawai Madhopur–Kota–Nagda section under the West Central Railway (WCR) zone. The milestone trial marks a major step toward the operational debut of Indian Railways’ next-generation sleeper variant, designed to offer faster, safer, and more comfortable long-distance journeys.

According to the West Central Railway, this successful test run represents a key achievement under Mission Gati Shakti, Indian Railways’ national initiative to boost speed and efficiency across the country’s vast network.
