Peoria Library Branch Supervisor Jill Thomsen was honored at Peoria’s annual fall employee appreciation event as the inaugural recipient of the Ignite Impact Employee of the Year Award.

This new annual recognition celebrates one exceptional employee whose daily actions and character exemplify the city of Peoria’s core values: professional, ethical, open, responsive, innovative and accountable.

Over the past year, Thomsen led a major refresh of the second floor of the Peoria Main Library. The centerpiece of this project was the creation of the Library Launchpad, a flexible, community-driven space with meeting rooms, classrooms, and innovative work areas. The Launchpad supports local entrepreneurs, students, and residents.
