HOWLAND The busy State Route 45 corridor, also known as Niles Cortland Road SE, in Howland Township, is about to see ground broken for a new 3-acre plaza.

Work is expected to begin in early 2026 on the plaza, which will sit directly across from Meijer, near the Eastwood Mall.

The two buildings will each have 8,820 square feet of space and will be called Howland Town Center. The plaza will sit between Warwick Road SE and Old Orchard SE, with entrances and exits to both roads.

The developer of the site, James Sabatine Jr., told 21 News that seven spaces will be available for leasing, and so far, three of those spaces have signed contracts, including First Watch, a "Daytime Dining" restaurant chain that serves breakfast, brunch, and lunch.
