An air ambulance has landed in Edinburgh after a huge emergency services response was called to a major incident.

Police, fire crews and paramedics were dispatched to Constitution Street at around 1.30pm on Friday, November 7. The air ambulance was seen landing in Leith Links at around 2.30pm, before residents reported seeing the helicopter landing at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh just before 3pm.

This comes after the street was closed at the junction with Queen Charlotte Street, with police confirming this was related to 'concern for a person'. Edinburgh Trams have added their services were on a part route due to a 'medical incident'.

The exact nature of the incident, and the condition of those involved, is not currently known. The public have been advised to 'avoid the area'.
