Keeping London Line in Sarnia open to traffic while Pulse Creek bridge is replaced next year will cost more and take longer, but it’s the preferred option for the busy road, Lambton County officials say.

County councillors recently adopted a public works department recommendation of a two-stage construction approach to keep traffic moving during construction on the county road bridge near Sarnia’s western boundary.

It’s estimated that will cost nearly $3.9 million and take eight months, compared to $3.3 million and six months if the road were closed and traffic detoured during construction, a county report said.
