BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – One man is behind bars after allegedly causing a delay for an air evac response to a local emergency.
According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department responded Thursday to 899 U.S. 31-W Bypass regarding a subject in the parking lot that pushed the caller.
Upon arrival, officers say they made contact with a male, later identified as 45-year-old Jerry Stivers.
Authorities say Stivers appeared to be confused and placed his hand in his pocket multiple times. The second time, authorities Stivers would not comply to remove his hand from his pocket.
Due to the potential that Stivers could have been reaching for a weapon, police say Stivers was detained, leading to a physical struggle.
Stivers was eventually placed into custody.
