HAYDEN, Idaho — The end of the General Election on Tuesday left something behind: Hundreds of campaign signs.

In effort to keep them from being tossed into the trash, Republic Services, 2024 W. Dakota Ave., Hayden, is putting out a box so the coroplast campaign signs can be recycled. People are welcome to drop off signs.

"Thanks for giving us the opportunity to make our home more environmentally friendly," wrote Wes Davis, general manager, North Idaho.

Coeur d'Alene City Councilor Kiki Miller is all for it.

While saying campaign signs are necessary, she would like to see them recycled rather than ending up in a landfill.

"I would encourage city halls to volunteer to become a drop location as well since they likely end up with some anyway," Miller wrote.
