COLUMBUS, Wis. (WKOW) -- The suspect in a 2024 Fourth of July shooting entered a plea agreement with prosecutors on Friday.

Jonathan Luna, 23, of Columbus, pleaded no contest to one count of first-degree intentional homicide. The court accepted his plea and found him guilty.

In exchange for his no-contest plea, the court dismissed an attempted first-degree intentional homicide charge and a bail jumping charge, following a motion from prosecutors.

Police said around 1:30 a.m. on July 4, 2024, officers were called to downtown Columbus for possible fireworks. They found Jose De Jesus Fuentes Hernandez, 42, of Columbus, had been shot. He was taken to the hospital and later died.
