The Memorial to Enslaved Persons honors the enslaved individuals who were instrumental in constructing the original campus where Baylor began its journey in Independence, Texas. The memorial comes as one of several recommendations from the University's Commission on Historic Campus Representations , whose report received unanimous approval from the Baylor Board of Regents in 2021.
