PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A person riding a rented electric scooter was killed Friday morning after crashing with an Amtrak train in southeast Portland’s Hosford-Abernathy neighborhood, police said.

The crash happened around 10:08 a.m. at the intersection of Southeast 11 th Avenue and Southeast Clinton Street. Officers arrived at the scene and found the scooter rider dead. The Amtrak train stopped after the crash.

PPB’s Major Crash Team is working the investigation.

Authorities have not released the victim’s name pending notification of next of kin.

There was no estimated time for reopening the intersection.
