The high school football playoffs for the S.C. High School League and SCISA kick off tonight.
A total of 29 Midlands teams will continue their quest to reach the state finals. Both leagues have a bevy of storylines going into the post-season:
- An early bye
After this past Friday’s clash for the Region 4-5A title, both Dutch Fork and Irmo will have an extra week for preparation.
The two rivals are the overall top seeds in their respective Class 5A Division I and II Upper State and Lower State brackets. They will have homefield advantage throughout the postseason.
The Silver Foxes will await the winner of Boiling Springs versus Mauldin in the Upper State Division I. The Yellow Jackets will face either Socastee or host team Lugoff-Elgin at W.C. Hawkins Stadium.
