KANSAS (KSNT) — The Kansas Department for Children and Families announced on Friday that Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits are being restored.
DCF said it's working to issue the full November SNAP benefits and said they should be sent out throughout the rest of the day.
DCF said the total distribution is more than $31.6 million to almost 86,000 Kansas households. According to DCF, the issuance won't be staggered, and once the file is processed, funds will be sent to EBT cards.
Late Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture sent states instructions on SNAP. At the time, DCF said it was recalculating each household’s benefits based on that guidance, which was different from the guidance provided on Tuesday.
