(QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- The Charlotte area is gearing up for Veterans Day with parades, ceremonies, and celebrations honoring the men and women who’ve served our country.
Here’s a look at what’s happening across the region.
Saturday, November 8:
Salute to Veterans Parade in Uptown Charlotte Tryon Street (9th St. to Brooklyn Village Ave.) Starts at 11 a.m. Charlotte’s biggest Veterans Day parade is back, with more than 2,000 participants, including high school bands, JROTC units, scout troops, and classic vehicles. The parade is free to attend.
Carolinas Veterans Day Festival at Romare Bearden Park 300 Church St, Uptown Charlotte 11 a.m.–3 p.m. Right after the parade, the celebration continues at Romare Bearden Park with live music, a veterans expo, family activities, and free meals while
