(QUEEN CITY BEWS) -- Witness testimony is now underway in the trial of two men accused of killing Scott Brooks, the well-known co-owner of Brooks’ Sandwich House in NoDa.
After nearly two weeks of jury selection, a panel of 12 jurors and four alternates was finalized. Opening statements followed, with both prosecutors and defense attorneys outlining their versions of the deadly shooting that shocked the community back in 2019.
As testimony began, there was a brief moment of distraction in the courtroom when at least one juror appeared to nod off. A bailiff quickly addressed the situation, and proceedings continued.
Court is expected to adjourn for the weekend at 5 p.m. and will resume Monday morning.
Brooks’ family, friends, and longtime customers continue to watch closely as the case
