A 65-year-old man slipped and fell about 130 feet to his death at Guano Point in Grand Canyon West, Mohave County Sheriff’s Office officials said.

The man fell about 2 p.m. Nov. 6. Search-and-rescue teams located his body about 130 feet down, and technicians set up a system of ropes to lower rescuers to recover his body to take to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Bureau of Indian Affairs Police, Hualapai Nation Fire and Grand Canyon West security assisted in the recovery of the man’s body.
