Two of the three African servals that escaped from a Berks County wildlife center during a wind storm earlier this week are now safely back home, officials announced on Saturday, Nov. 8.

The Cricket Wildlife Center in District Township said the first cat was recovered after staff regained access to their Facebook account following a hacking attempt. The second serval returned shortly after, thanks to the help of community members and animal rescue crews.

The remaining serval has been spotted several times and appears to be staying in the area bordered by **Huffs Church Road, Bitting Road, and Delong Road**, according to the center’s update.

“The wonderful people from Special Operations are out here now flying thermal drones in hopes of locating them,” the post read. “Mighty Paws Humane Society have been helping us cut up trees and rebuild the enclosures!”

Staff thanked the public for their support, noting that dozens of residents called in sightings that led to the second cat’s recovery.

“Thank you so much to Jess, Jennifer, Tammy, Holly, Rich, and the dozens of people who called in sightings!! Thank you!! Thank you!! Thank you!! ❤️” the post said.
