TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The Federal Aviation Administration mandated flight cutbacks started Friday, but experts are warning that travelers are only starting to see the impact.
Tampa International Airport is one of 40 airports across the country that will see a 10% reduction in flights as a result of the FAA orders.
Friday, only four percent of flights were cut back, but those flight reductions will increase by 2% a day until they reach 10%.
U.S. Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy warned on Friday, the flight reductions could increase to 20% if the government shutdown is not ended.
That's making some travelers nervous.
