DENHAM SPRINGS, La. (WAFB) - A Livingston Parish School System bus carrying 28 students was struck by a car Friday afternoon, sending four children to the hospital for evaluation.

The collision occurred shortly after 3:25 p.m. on Cockerham Road when a car entering from Anderson Road struck LPPS Bus #K8 in the door-side panel. The bus was transporting students from Freshwater Elementary to their homes.

Four students were transported to Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital of Baton Rouge for evaluation. The remaining students were returned to the school to be picked up by their parents or transported home by another bus.

No injuries were reported by the bus driver or the driver of the car.

The Denham Springs Police Department managed the incident and will prepare a full report. The F
