PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WLOX) - Pascagoula High School students honored veterans from all military branches during a ceremony on Friday, recognizing those who have served their country.
The program included the Mississippi Gulf Coast “Silent Hero” feature, which remembered a Gulfport High graduate who died in service. Students and guests watched a POW/MIA presentation and an Old Glory flag passing ceremony that concluded with a moment honoring deceased veterans.
Don Pratt, the oldest veteran in attendance, said the annual event holds special meaning for him.
“It was something that I personally am so happy to be here because God has still kept me alive,” Pratt said. “Outstanding, every year it’s something special to me because my friends are still gone.”
