MISSION, Texas (ValleyCentral) — The City of Mission will honor its Veterans with two special events.

The city announced it will hold a Veterans Day parade on Saturday, Nov. 8 starting at 10 a.m. The parade will begin on Conway Avenue and Business 83 and end on Bryan Road and Business 83 along downtown.

The year's parade Grand Marshal is retired U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sergeant Polo Garza from Mission.

The parade will featuring local veterans, military organizations, schools, community groups, and first responders.

In addition to the parade, the annual Veterans Day Barbecue will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Mission Event Center. The free lunch event is open to all veterans as a gesture of gratitude for their service and sacrifice. Veterans will have the
