Billy Royce Medlin inducted into the Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame

On Friday, close friends and family members joined Billy Royce Medlin, the newest inductee to the Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame (LCCHF) in Hobbs.

Those who are honored stand out in the community for their good character and reputation, are community leaders and distinguished in the rodeo circuit, and are at the heart of the development of Lea County’s livestock industry, which must be their principal business.

All those criteria fit Medlin to a T; in fact, it is in his very blood and ancestry.

On a sunny morning, just a week before the event, Medlin and his wife of 11 years, Rhonda Medlin, opened their home, northeast of Roswell, for an interview. Rhonda Medlin excused herself shortly after.
