EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The Evansville Housing Authority held a resource fair for the community at the CK Newsome Center today.
Organizers say with the level of need in the Evansville community continuing to rise, it was necessary to have this event and provide as much help as possible.
The CK Newsome Center was packed with around 50 vendors providing resources for housing, food, education and more.
Free bus rides were available to and from the event, and organizers handed out door prizes and other giveaways.
They say with the uncertainty around SNAP benefits, it’s important to show people what is out there to help them.
“The world is kind of crazy right now. And unfortunately, it’s hitting people who are already facing hard decisions,” says Annette Ussery, EHA resident services man
