ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) -A new tribute to former Missouri governor and senator, Kit Bond.

A local childcare center was named in his honor.

The Christopher “Kit” Bond Center, located on South Grand, will be a dedicated facility for early childhood and family support.

During his time as governor, Bond started the “Parents as Teachers” program in Missouri.

The free program offers support and resources to first-time parents.

“Parents as Teachers” currently serves more than 188,000 families across the country and in six foreign countries.
