YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- Youngstown City Schools District's superintendent has been named among the country's top 10 school superintendents for 2025 by Education Insider.

The list honors those who have improved education through various avenues.

According to the magazine, Dr. Jeremy Batchelor was chosen for his "data-driven leadership, fostering academic improvement and promoting school safety."

"He focuses on raising educational benchmarks, collaborative progress, and building strong partnerships to advance student achievement and district growth," the magazine said.

A native of Youngstown, Batchelor has been with the district since 2018, starting as a principal and working up to superintendent in August 2023.
