FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — The Fort Smith Police Department said officers are investigating a shooting that left one person injured on Friday night.

A news release from the department said that around 7:30 p.m., officers responded to a shooting incident at the 4600 block of Clarendon Avenue.

Once on the scene, officers found a person with an injury to their forearm.

FSPD said detectives are responding to the scene to take over the investigation.

A spokesperson for FSPD said there is no present danger to the public and no arrests have been made at this time.

The department said the investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when it becomes available.
