PHOENIX — The City of Scottsdale is moving forward with plans to build a memorial for late political activist Charlie Kirk.

The city council voted to move forward with the process, directing the city manager to "investigate the matter and prepare a written response to the Council" for a future meeting.

Scottsdale City Councilman Adam Kwasman said it is only fitting that Kirk's memorial be in the "community he called home."
