CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WWBT) - A Chesterfield firefighter has died after his motorcycle crashed into a car on West Hundred Road on Friday.

Police were called to a crash involving a motorcycle and a car in the 4900 block of W. Hundred Road around 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 7.

Officials say the motorcycle was riding eastbound on West Hundred Road when it collided with a vehicle that was exiting the Grand Oaks Apartments.

The motorcyclist was taken VCU where he later died.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to the hospital non-life-threatening injuries.

The motorcyclist was identified as Sammy Ershidat, 23, who was a Career Firefighter with Chesterfield County Fire & EMS.

Police continue to investigate this incident.
