AUSTIN (KXAN) — Vandegrift and Hutto split the District 25-6A title with wins, and McNeil ended up being the odd team out of a three-way tie for two remaining playoff spots in the final week of the Texas high school football regular season Friday.

Vandegrift beat Round Rock 23-17, and the Hippos clipped McNeil 52-49 to both finish 7-1 in district play. The Vipers will host Westlake in the 6A-Division II bi-district round, and Hutto will host Bowie in a 6A-Division I opening round game next week.
