A man wanted for allegedly shooting at a deputy and leading authorities on a chase in DeKalb County has been arrested in Georgia, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office say deputies tried to pull over Gary Jody Childers for an outstanding arrest warrant in late October. That's when Childers allegedly took off, firing several shots through his back window toward a deputy's car.
Childers was taken into custody in Floyd County, Georgia, shortly after 9 p.m. Friday. He faces charges of attempted murder, certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm, along with federal charge.
The sheriff's office says Childers will remain in custody in Georgia until he's extradited to DeKalb County.
