India wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant has suffered a massive injury blow ahead of his Test comeback during the Day 3 of the 2nd unofficial Test against South Africa A. Pant walked in to bat early on Day 3 as KL Rahul lost his stumps against Okuhle Cele at the BCCI Centre of Excellence. However, his stay at the crease lasted just 22 balls as he left the field after being hit on his arm.

Pant was struck twice in the morning session, first on his left arm, and later near the groin area off Tshepo Moreki’s bowling. After two medical interruptions, he eventually walked off the field, with Dhruv Jurel coming in to replace him. His injury has raised concerns among fans ahead of much-awaited comeback to international cricket after three months.
